Success Stories

  • For several years, the Fairgrounds has been the host site to four of the local high schools’ proms. This may not sound like a very big deal until you take into consideration that all four of these proms occur on the SAME NIGHT! Throw in a Magnolia Arabian Horse Show at the same time and this is where things often get tricky. Not only do we work with four different high schools and handle four different set-ups for four different buildings, but we also have to make sure each school is segregated as much as possible from the other schools. Thus, students cannot “crash” other proms. This takes a lot of coordination from several different departments to make sure students have ease of access to the Fairgrounds, park near their prom building, enjoy their prom in a secure atmosphere, and encounter no problems leaving the grounds.

  • In 2009, the Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter hosted the National Junior Angus Show. This show is the world’s largest single beef breed show for exhibitors ages nine to 21. Over 4,000 people from 40 states were in attendance throughout the week, bringing national recognition to the facility and state. While planning the National Junior Angus Show, the need for space for large and multiple events became evident. The Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter started planning for expansion that would accommodate large livestock and equine events to be held at the same time.

  • The FMCA Rally requires the use of all buildings, all RV hookups, and several hundred acres, and they also would require the use of our entire inventory, including tables, chairs, staging, and all available manpower.

Until they came to the Georgia National Fairgrounds, the Family Motor Coach Association had never been to a location more than twice. They have now returned to the Georgia National Fairgrounds an unprecedented SEVEN times and are scheduled for an eighth! For this reason, we never say “welcome back” to FMCA. We say “welcome home!”
