Agricultural/Youth Director

Job Title: Agricultural/Youth Director
FLSA Status: Exempt
Department: Livestock
Reports To: Executive Director/Deputy Executive Director

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of livestock, agricultural, youth, and equine related activities and educational programs at the GNFA.
Qualification Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Recruit, plan, manage, and conduct all livestock, equine, agricultural programs, and events including the Georgia National Stock Show.
• Assist customers with show production to include planning and event execution.
• Develop and execute financial contracts associated with fair and non-fair events.
• Recruit, interview, select, and train event personnel in accordance with established guidelines.
• Supervise and counsel personnel as required.
• Coordinate with other departments and personnel to ensure success of all events.
• Serve as organizational liaison with State 4-H and FFA organizations.
• Develop long-range plans for livestock, agricultural, and youth activities at the GNFA.
• Other duties, functions and special assignments as directed by the Executive Director.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Proficiency with computers and common software applications (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc).
• Ability to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent knowledge of and ability to administer all policies and procedures of the GNFA.
• Ability to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of livestock and agricultural planning and competition.

Other:
• Travel from office to other locations may be required.
• This position may require an irregular work schedule and the performance of work assignments which may not be directly related to job specifications.

Supervisory Control and Responsibilities:
This position has direct supervisory control over the Agricultural Program Coordinator.
Guidelines:
The Agricultural/Youth Director must comply with generally accepted management practices as well as relevant State and Federal regulations. Such guidelines are generally clear and specific but may require some interpretation in their application.

Minimum Training and/or Experience to Perform Essential Job Functions:
A College Degree in Agribusiness, Animal Science or a related field is required, with 8-10 years’ relevant work experience in a comparable position. However, a combination of education and experience may be used to meet minimum requirements.

Salary:
Compensation package will be based on previous work experience, knowledge of programs, and education.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and understand written materials. Ability to effectively communicate in order to give or exchange information, resolve problems, and/or provide service.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Some work may involve percentages, ratios, and other more complex mathematical computations.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in written form in a professional manner. Primary communication is with outside officials and customers as well as GNFA employees.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to interpret and understand general business principles, a variety of forms, manuals, regulations and other means of instruction and guidance.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Operations Technician

Job Title: Operations Technician I
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Department: Operations
Reports To: Operations Director

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting in the performance of the routine and non-routine duties of the operations division to ensure the success of all GNFA events and overall customer satisfaction.

Qualification Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Cleaning and maintaining commercial buildings and GNFA grounds.
• Event setup and break-downs involving tables, chairs, and other equipment.
• Maintain livestock and horse facilities.
• Notify immediate supervisor of needed tools, equipment, or supplies.
• Other duties, functions and special assignments as directed by Supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to perform successfully with minimal instructions and supervision.
• Excellent knowledge of and ability to abide by all policies and procedures of the GNFA.

Other:
• Travel from office to other location may be required.
• This position may require an irregular work schedule and the performance of work assignments which may not be directly related to job specifications.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
